Gestalt Psychotherapy in Nottingham

There are lots of different types of therapy or psychotherapy. These appeal to different people - depending on where they are in their lives.

Gestalt Psychotherapy is a holistic therapy which means I relate to and support the whole person and their experiences.

In Gestalt Psychotherapy the therapeutic relationship (relationship between therapist and client) is central to bringing about change. Therapy is an environment in which you can practice different ways of being or relating to another person.

Gestalt is also interested in the relationship between our emotional and physical selves. When we experience ourselves in the here and now our experience is informed by our history. It is not about labelling based on past experiences, more about recognising the impact our experiences have had on us and enabling us to choose how we want to be and relate to others.
